Studio acht Ateliers is an art and design studio founded and based in Prague. Our practice carries forward the legacy of Studio acht architects, established in Rotterdam in 1973, and builds upon the foundation of our well-established sister studio, Studio acht, headquartered in Prague since 1993. Through this close partnership, we benefit from a rich exchange of knowledge that bridges visual art, design, and architecture.
Ateliers focuses on spatial design for exhibitions and interiors, public spaces, art in architecture, lighting and furniture. At the core of our approach is collaboration across crafts — not as a fixed collective, but as a flexible network of individuals. As a new generation of Studio acht, we return to the studio’s roots, where its early operations resembled a co-working environment rather than a closed collective. Each project brought together a unique team composition, allowing members to come and go freely while taking responsibility for their own work. This dynamic approach allows us to assemble the perfect team for each project’s specific needs.
