Scientists have discovered a new subspecies of the mosquito Culex Pipiens Molestus in the London Underground. The mentioned subspecies live in underground metro systems in cities such as New York, London or Tokyo. Due to the constant underground temperature there is no need for them for diapauses, they reproduce in still waters, which is plenty of in the tunnels and have a constant supply of food in the form of rats that are living in the underground and humans that are traveling by underground public transport. They were perfectly able to adapt to this certain environment.
The work blood sweat and tears looks into their lives. The video itself gives them space to tell their life story. Although the video is at first glance dedicated to the life of a mosquito, the narrated story refers to the human species and comments on the life situation of the socially discriminated.
